Bottle. A- Roasty, malty, cocoa. A- Black color, black liquid, tan head. T- Cocoa, malty, roasty, coffee, smokey. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, roasty finish. O- A pretty average porter. Robust but not overbearing. Pretty smooth, but other than being roasty and having some cocoa notes, I really didn’t get much else. Balanced.

Flaske 0,355. Gave fra Rune. Drukket på Bergstua 28 Mar 13. Ekstremt dyp rødbrun / svart. Et pent, litt farget skum med litt lacing. God sjokoladearoma. Smaken er sjokolade & kaffe. Blir litt tørr etter hvert. En god porter.

Bottle courtesy of rlgk. Pours dark brown with a rather small frothy goldenish beige head that slowly dissipates while leaving a small trace on the glass. Smell is malty with toasted malts, dark bread, hay, sweet low cocoa chocolate, burnt wood and hints of cereal. Taste is tiny sweet, bitter, tiny sour and malty with roasted malts, sweet dark bread, sweetened coffee, milk chocolate, caramel, wood, lemon zest and hints of old bread. Mouthfeel is round, tiny roasted astringent, tiny roasted tart and light to medium bodied. Finish is bitter with roasted malts, hay, bitter chocolate, coffee and wood. Decent but uninspiring.

(Bottle, 0.355 l - BBE 06/2014, from Alko Arkadia, 20131108) The beer poured almost black. Its heas was quite large, it lasted long and its colour was lightly brown. Aroma had liquorice, hops and burnt malts. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, liquorice, somewhat fruity hops, coffee and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt and bitter. A very nice but bit too burnt porter. The hops made it better.
