Robust Porter
The intense flavors of dark-roasted malt in Boulevard’s rendition of the classic English porter are perfectly balanced by a generous and complex hop character. Bully! Porter’s robust nature makes it the ideal companion to a variety of foods, from seafood to chocolate.

Bottle: Dark brown pour, thin tan head. Aroma is mainly a light roastiness with some dry coffee tones. Dry and robust in flavor with a heavy roast, dark chocolate, and just ever so faintly sweet before a nice lingering bittersweetness. A nice weight to it. An easy drinker.

Bottle. Pours very dark brown with a medium frothy tan head that lasts awhile. The aroma is a sweet malt with raisin and coffee. Good sticky lacing on the glass. The taste is roasted malt, chocolate and a very sweet finish. Really enjoyed this one. A very good porter from Boulevard.

Bottle courtesy of Soonah! Thanks! Pours jet black with a very large brown head. Nice malty aroma... caramel roasty aroma. Mocha beginning with a bitter end. Medium, chalky mouthfeel. Drinkable but not great.

Very pretty porter. Large, creamy, light brown head with good retention and lacing. Typical ultra-dark brown body. Aroma is chocolate, coffee and the fruity hops that I have come to associate with most of Boulevard’s brews. Taste is coffee up front followed by a mildly sour and salty finish with a yeasty aftertaste. Dry mouthfeel and a bit too fizzy carbonation.

12 oz bottle (BB 1/16/08) from mreusch; Thanks Matt; nose of floral and pine hops with chocolate and caramel; cloudy brown with a big, glass-lacing, tan head; flavor is light hop bitterness, smoke, and chocolate. Body is light-medium and finish is bitter. Good porter!

I had thought oak aged DL was my 1000th, but I guess it wasn’t - now it’s this finely crafted porter - nice, slick mouthfeel - abundant roasted malts - lingering brown sugar in the background, and an almost floral hop character that is faint, yet quite present - very nice.

An opaque brown beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is very sweet and lovely roasted, but also with hints of alcohol. The flavor is very roasted giving it a very dry mouthfeel right from the beginning, but it also contains light spicy notes and hints of cellery. The end is dry and roasted. Quite nice. Thanks Papsø for sharing.

Bottled. Dark ruby red/dark brown colour. mediumsized brown head. Caramellish, very sweet malts in aroma along with some roasted notes. Also some dark chocolate and coffee. Flavour is strongly smoked, some chocolate, and old coffee there. Very pleasant brew. Sticky and dry palate in finish. Aftertaste is roasted and sweet caramellish/hoppy.
