Malts: Chocolate, Dark Munich, Carafa 3, Pale & Wheat Hops: Bramling Cross. The addition of a generous helping of oats combines with a selection of malts to create a delightfully roasted and smooth mouthfeel. Flavours of coffee, chocolate and subtle spice come through in the finish of this easily drinkable Porter.
Best Enjoyed: Sat in a big cosy armchair by a roaring fire. Or by a campfire with mates. Or at a fireworks celebration. Basically, anywhere you can find a fire.

Can in Oldmeldrum. It pours jet black with a medium tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, salted liquorice, plum, prune, cacao and charred notes. The taste is dark roasted malt, some bitterness, charred wood, ash, cacao, dark fruits, berry, prune, earthy, umami, coffee grounds and some cracked black pepper with a dry, roasted finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Decent porter. Pretty robust.

Cask from Andrew Usherβs. Dark brown body with a thin beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of cocoa powder and blueberries. Flavour of plum, toasted bread and roasted malt. Thin body with a watery texture. Good flavour for the ABV. Smooth and easy to drink.

On cask @ Cloisters. Appearance - opaque black with a pleasant off-white head. Nose - roast and chocolate. Some smoke and liquorice lingering at the back. Taste - more of the same really. The chocolate comes through more than on the nose. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy / crunchy texture and a long dry crunchy finish. Overall - good for the low ABV.
