22oz bottle split by Madvike, thanks Matt!! Deep brown, approaching black. Head fades away fast. Oaky, mellow vanilla tones. Really hides the alcohol well...somefaint mellow heat in the finish. Burnt smoked toffee tones. Woody birchy chocolate tones. Really well done, mellowed out .

Near black with ruby highlights, small off-white head. Malty aroma with licorice and roasted character, prunes and oak. Sweet fruity and caramel malty flavour with nice oak notes. Roasted and tannic bitterness in the finish.

10/13/12/13/10/13

Aroma: The nose has some bourbon, wood, chocolate, vanilla, caramel, and toffee
Appearance: This one pours a dark brownish color with a small brown head
Flavor: The taste is fairly heavy malty, with a decently complex mix of malty and boozy flavors
Palate: The body of this one is fairly full, with a fairly smooth feel, and some heat on the finish
Overall Impression: I am finally almost caught up on my backlog! I thought this was a rather interesting beer. Clearly, this one is going to get high marks from most, considering the style and the complexity, and I am no different in that account.

Sample courtesy of JaBier at the Jackie O’s Bottle Sale on 08/27/2011. Pours dark brownish-black with a medium beige head that dissipates steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of bourbon, dark chocolate, caramel and vanilla. Rich body with a bourbon character and flavors of chocolate malt, vanilla, and a touch of dark fruit. The finish is boozy with a lasting roasty malt aftertaste. Good beer.

Small beige head over reddish-shot black-brown beer. Chalk, liquorice, Bourbon, vanilla. Sweet taste with a mineral touch, Ketjap Manis, tomatoconcentrate (I hear everybody shouting umami), liquorice, coconut. Throat alcoholheating bomb; very thick, viscous as oil. Great beer, and one that grew on me sipping. Many thanks to Evan & Matt!

Bottled @ tasting cgarvieuk. Black colour, beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, bourbon, bit of vanilla. Flavour of deep roasted malts, coffee, smooth and creamy. A bit boozy. Does not stand up to FW11, but at any rate a great beer.
