Medium brown head. Muddy brown body. Deep airy roasty malt aroma with dusty earthy fruity spicy notes. Dry-sweet licorice and roasty chocolate taste with perfumy earthy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild mouthfeel. Dryish roasty licorice aftertaste with dusty herbal earthy notes. Aftertaste lingers for a good while. Excellent! Very clear and vivid. (0.33l bottle, Smag, Ebeltoft. Bottle, 33cl, 2010 vintage. It pours a slightly unclear chestnut body. The head disappears quite rapidly, leaving a thin, dense layer of beige bubbles. It’s quite spiced on the nose, licorice, coffee, dark dried fruits, alcohol and some hops too. Obviously, judging by the aroma, the flavor will be quite sweet. And sweet it is, with a pleasant alcohol warmth, dried fruits, licorice, coffee and a little bitterness trying to balanced the sweetness. Full-bodied, pleasantly carbonated and slightly warming. Sweet finish with the same flavors found initially. A quite nice one, but it’s too heavy on the sweetness to be really pleasant. Still, wouldn’t mind drinking it again. 101027
