Bentley's brewing origins date back to 1828 when it was founded by Henry Bentley as the Oulton Brewery in Woodlesford, Leeds.
The brewery was bought by Whitbread & Co. in 1968, and commercial brewing of the original Bentley’s Yorkshire Bitter ceased in October 1972.
The brand continued to be brewed thereafter by Whitbread.
