The bottle looks simple but good, the beer in the glass dark brown, very zippy, wonderful creamy head. Starts strong-malty, modest dry, wonderful nutty notes and also a bit fruity like plum. Finish not as dry as the beginning, very well balanced, not too roasty. Very drinkable and good dunkles!

bottle from Bierzwerg. Clear brown colour, large off-white, neraly beige head. Malty nose with hints of caramel and chocolate. So is the flavour, also full of chocolate, caramel and roasted malts. Full-bodied, with a very shy hoppy touch on the lingering finish. Lovely!

Bottled (thanks Timo A.). Reddish amber colour, small head. Aroma is caramel malts, some fruits, mild raisiny notes as well as some mild sap. Flavour is caramel, fruits, wood, some slight toasted notes as well as syrupy notes. Quite nice and refreshing, even though it’s quite on the sweet side for a dunkel.

On draught at the I-O Espresso Bar in Vilshofen, Germany. Pours a mostly clear amber-brown color with a medium and foamy beige head that recedes steadily. Patches of lacing on the glass. Toasted malt and brown sugar in the nose. Medium body with flavors of roasted malt, fruit and mild hops. The finish is roasty with notes of malt and fruit that lingers awhile. Slightly above average overall.
