One cold 2012 January Sunday afternoon I visited the brewpub and tried all four beers available: this being the first. I believe this beer is also called by other names on occasions. It came semi-cloudy blonde/light orange colour in a tall handled glass containing 0.3 litres, the head a white cap of bubbles. The smell was of mildly sweet malts and hints of yeast, the taste not far off that either, a trace of bitterness in the aftertaste, but this isn’t a hoppy brew. Butterscotch and caramel came to mind in the flavours, this isn’t a refreshing helles/pilsner like the mass produced ones; this is more wholesome and complex. The girls in my party really took to it and only drank glasses of this while my male friend and I drank everything on tap that was on offer. We would however have been quite happy to have had a session on this one beer.

Cloudy blond color. The aroma is grassy, hay, cereals, but also paper. Weak body and mouthfeel; light malt flavor, with some residual sweetness; very light cereals and chamomile; low bitterness. Different than a usual bottled Lager, but not as refreshing and incisive as a good draught.

Draft. A hazy golden beer with a lazing off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt and straw as well as lighter notes of yeast. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, yeast, and straw, as well as lighter notes of sulphur, leading to a dry hay-like finish.
