Keeping the birthday cake theme rolling, next up is Barrel Aged Birthday Bestowed! This is a 13% ABV imperial stout with chocolate cake, chocolate, sprinkles and lactose that was aged for 12 months in Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels.
The barrel character balances the sweetness beautifully. It's full bodied and so dark that it coats the glass. Expect notes of bourbon, dark chocolate, toffee and plenty of oak.

Appearance - 10 | Aroma - 9 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8.5
375ml (thx, Chris S.!) @ home. Appearance: very dark brown with some dark beige head. Aroma: American oak, sweetness, chocolate, some bourbon. Taste: along the same lines, a bit boozy, nice body. Finishes with a nice bourbon barrel. Overall: good one, nicely balanced.
