Sampled on draft at The Headkeeper in Greensburg PA this beer poured a very dark brown color with a small beige head that lingered. The aroma was somewhat faint but sugary with notes of bourbon, wood, light fruits and tobacco. The flavor was bourbon, wood, brown sugar, caramel, fruity hops, cherry and tobacco. The finish was long with bourbon, brown sugar and wood lingering. Fairly full bodied. Very nice.

A reddish brown ale with a thin moka head. A sweet nutty aroma with a light Brett and oak notes, vinous and smooth. In mouth, a smooth silky mouthfeel with chocolate bar sweetness, tingly notes, light lactic points, warming alcohol. A silky oily beauty. On cask at the People’s Real Ale Fest, Clarke’s Ale House, April 30 2010.

Draught @ Copenhagen Beer Fest. Notes of chocolate, milk, wood and bourbon in the aroma. Lots of things going on in the taste. It tries to be sweet, bitter and vinous, but ends up tasting like a kind of strange and boring flanders red ale.

Draught at Pizzeria Paradiso. Dark brown (unsurprisingly), off-white head. Aroma is subtle caramel and booze. Taste is an interesting sweet/sour combo with plenty of dark fruit and a bitter finish. Very nice.
