Bottled@Monks Café, Sveavägen, Stockholm. Pitch black colour, small brown head. Aroma is licorice, some smoke as well as some dark berries. Flavour is roasted malts, licorice and quite tasty. Some mild vanilla and also tobaccoish (though this isn’t the tobacco version). Wellbalanced and nice porter. Licorice and smoke in the aftertaste.

Bottled, 75cl. Almost clear, dark reddish-brown beer with a tan head. Some chocolate aroma, and roasted malt and coffee. The flavor is nice, but a bit weak, and there’s some papery notes as well. Full-bodied, with a dry finish with coffee. Rating: 6-4-6-4-14-3.4. 061229
Bottle, courtesy of KimJohansen. A reddish, dark brown beer with a small, dark beige head. Chocolate, coffee and roasted malts on the nose, a bit weak, but definitely not bad. Dry, full-bodied and nicely carbonated. Chocolate and roasted malts in the flavor, some licorice-like notes. A nice one, but I feel the flavors are jumping everywhere. Strange. Wouldn’t mind finishing a bottle on my own though. 100814

Dark red color, medium creamy and frothy head. Aroma of oatmeal, roasted malts, some vegetable, laurel. Very bitter taste, thick and creamy, roasted malty, coffee. Quite complex. Surprisingly low rating.

(Bottle 75 cl) Pours a very dark brown with a small, creamy, beige head. Lightly burned malt aroma. Medium body with burned malty accents and then a hard to describe fruity tang that somehow appears misplaced. A bitter finish from the malts. 110806

Bottle. Pours a dark brown colour with a brown head. Roasted malty aroma with some fruity hints. Some hints of coffee too. Roasted malty flavor with some hints of chocolate and coffee. Leaves you with a slightly bitter aftertaste.
