2008. Created by homebrewer Alex Drobshoff. Alex’s Brew is a bright copper German inspired bock with a complex, full bodied mouthfeel. Hints of rich plum and cherry aromas paired with its toasty, malt flavor make this the perfect beer to linger over on a cool evening.

2008 bottle sold in a box set. thanks Toby. Pours out a brown topped with a sand head. Aroma was of sweet roast malts and bread. Taste a very nice malt and bread. A little sweet and a touch of bitterness. Pretty tasty.

Nice perfect looking deep copper and ruby tinted amber body with a nice two centimetre tall deep tan head - this is how you want any bock to look like! Aroma of roasted malt, nuts, raisins, pit fruit and a bit of basement oldness - just like a typical bock again that you’d find in Germany - nice so far! Medium-bodied; Nice roasty flavour with caramel, cardamom and a bit of toasted pine nuts that show before the malt and any hop bitterness at all - nice flavours throughout with plenty of complexity. Aftertaste shows plenty of roasted malt, nuts and sugars - nice body throughout. Overall, a pretty good beer, very representative to the style almost to a ’T’, with some perhaps too bitter and too roasty tastes for my liking, but definitely good to sample! I sampled this twelve ounce purchased from Total Wine in Chantilly, Virginia on 11-July-2009, sampled at home in Washington on 13-September-2009.

Its bocky. Caramel and malt. Not as full flavored as some, but good bock flavor anyway. Lager yeast. Good.

bottle, pours brown with a tan head. Doughy malt some nutty notes and a brown sugar aroma. Nutty bread flavors very nice and full bodied with some sweetness finishing with a light bitterness. Extremely drinkable and a great example of style.

Bottle. Brown with a small head. Smells of toast and malts. Flavor: roasted malts, bread, and burnt toast. OK, but nothing special.

A thick off-white head sits over this deep mahogany brew. Caramel malt aroma with a touch of smokiness. Lightly sweet with a full body and some dryness in the finish. Very respectable offering from Sam Adams.

Bottle as shown. Pours a clear amber with a small light tan head that diminishes quickly leaving behind decent spotty lacing on the glass. The aroma is malt and caramel and light fruit. Medium mouthfeel with a caramel malt with raisin with a nice dry finish. Hides the alcohol well making it easy to drink, a good dunkler bock from Sam Adams.

Aroma is chestnuts and honey with a vinegar and rubber taint. Dark copper brown, very clear, medium yellow head. Medium body and highly carbonated, but the flavor is not very strong. It tastes weakly of marzipan and plums with some mossy notes. Chestnut finish. Alcohol is undetectable. Easily drinkable and best when warm.
