2008. Created by homebrewer Alex Drobshoff. Alex’s Brew is a bright copper German inspired bock with a complex, full bodied mouthfeel. Hints of rich plum and cherry aromas paired with its toasty, malt flavor make this the perfect beer to linger over on a cool evening.

12 oz bottle. Pours a dark but translucent brown color with a white head. Aroma is malty, roasted. Flavor packs a punch even at only 6.8%. Good malt balance, tinge of hop notes. Not my favorite style, but good.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a red-chestnut color with a huge red-khaki head. The aroma was sour, vegetal, tangy and malty. The flavor was fruity, tangy, bitter and richly malty with notes of caramel, nut and a touch of molasses. The finish was long, tangy, fruity and malty. The mouthfeel was moderately thick.

Bottle. Mahogony beer with a dark cream colored head. Rich malt aroma with light darker malts. Malt and caramel flavor with light mineral and light citrus. Medium bodied. Very clean and easy to drink. Caramel and light mineral linger.

Pours deep clear amber with minute long tan head. The aroma emits cherries, plums, some roastiness, earthiness and faint oxidation. The taste starts with a modest note of smooth sweetness from cherry notes, plums and malts and being punctuated briefly by a carbonation burst. By midway mild notes of caramel and slowly building malt roastiness take this into the finish. It ends with a renewed ripe plum and cherry sweet fruitiness.

Nice and dark but not opaque. Aroma is almost alky fumey, like many bocks. No head. Strong yet not too offensice to the palate. Decent carbonation with a slight bitter medicine malt. Finish is tuff and lingering alky.

12 oz. bottle. Poured into a Sam Adams glass. Appealing dark lager pour, big head collects in the narrow top of the glass. Sweet, maybe sugary malt smell says this just may be a real trad style bock. Taste is very likable. Malty molasses cookie sweetness; I get a hint of ginger snap. A bit of dried fruit, but this is a well-finished lager. Not a beer to slam down, but to enjoy. I wouldn’t worry if they made this their regular bock recipe.

12 oz bottle from Country Club Liquors, a gift from enniskillen. Nose of wheaty fruitiness, with some toffee and light banana notes. Clear cherry brown with a medium beige head. Flavor is caramel, almonds, toffee, and light sweetness.

Poured a nice amber with a decent beige head. Aroma mostly of caramel. Pretty full bodied with firm carbonation. The flavor is smooth, rich caramel with lighter dark fruits. I’ll buy plum and cherry. Finish is smooth and lightly sweet. It drinks amazingly well, and I think most everyone will enjoy it.

Bottle. Clear, ruby brown/copper pour with a short, diminishing off-white head. Sweet aroma, though light, of caramel and toasted malts with hijnts of fruits, particularly plum. The flavor is moderatetly to heavily sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of subar and honey linger on the tongue along with some roastiness. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. A tad too sweet, but just enough balance to keep it from becoming cloying or syrupy on the tongue.

Bottle. Pours a medium/light brown with a pillowy head. Aromas are sweet... maple sugar and caramel with a little bit of earthiness. Flavor is mildly cloying maple sugar sweetness with a little bit of a nutty side to it. Nothing spectacular here... but solid enough.
