Spicy and Bold, a big Christmas cookie of a beer.
Samuel Adams® Old Fezziwig® Ale is the Christmas cookie of beer. Bursting with spices of the season and a remarkably full body, it helps those long winter nights pass much quicker. The full body hits the palate first with a depth of malt character ranging from sweeter toffee and caramel notes to the more dark, roasty chocolate notes. Then come the spices in full force. Cinnamon, ginger and orange peel dance on the tongue bringing with them the celebratory spirit that goes hand in hand with the season.

Bottle. Spicy, sweet aroma. Taste, not too good. Spice, sweet and bitter are not matched well. Darkish amber color. Good for sipping by the fire but can’t take more than one or two.

Light nutmeg, a vague bit of roast. Toffee. Brown pour with ok head. Bittersweet finish. Not bad for a Christmas beer. Kind of just a brown ale with a slight but manageable amount of bullshit. Bottle.

Bottle from Sam Adams Winter Mix Pack. Pours a dark mahogany color with a full two fingers of beige head that lingers. Toasted malt, light molasses and winter spice aromas on the nose. Palate is similar, flavors are balanced. Lingering spice and caramelized dark sugar notes on the finish with a touch of herbal dryness.

12 oz bottle poured. Festive beer. Seemed fitting. Reddish copper pour. Aroma is full of bready malt and holiday spices. Flavor starts out metallic, and leads tonsome cinnamon like spice, orange, and hints of chocolate. Both bold and sweet at the same time. Biting spice finish. Okay.
