12 fl oz bottle from Total Wines & More, Clearwater, FL. On January 24, 2011Clear brown color, big light brown head. Sweet, malty, spicy scent. Sweet, spicy, malty, bread taste. Grain and slightly roasted aftertaste. Moussy mouthfeel, medium dryish bitterness.

12 oz. bottle. Pours dark mahogany with almost no head. The aroma is light roast malts, ginger, pine and molasses. The flavor is sweet and roasty, with bitterness in the finish. The palate is thick and sticky. Overall, an interesting beer, but a little weak.

Bottle. Pours a medium brown with an inch of off-white to tan head. Smells of spice - nutmeg, cinnamon, some caramel notes. Taste... oh it’s bland. Some caramel, lots of spice. A bit of copper fills the gap, but who wants copper between caramel and spice?

12 oz bottle from Winter Classic pack. Pours a dark mahogany with a thin tan head. Aroma has a variety of winter spices, none of which rises to the forefront. Aromas include ginger, cinnamon, orange peel and maple. Balanced throughout, a good dosing of bitterness rises at the end of the swallow. Spry carbonation keeps the earthy spices dancing on the palette. It reminds me of a pumpkin ale. A very drinkable brew, as soon as I finished it, I was reaching for the other one.

I enjoyed this as part of a 12 pack sampler while my band was recording. Appearance very dark brown with creamy head. Aroma mostly malty some spices. Taste malts and cinnamon, rather creamy, good carbination, pretty good stuff.

Bottle 12fl.oz. @ home.[ Trade by Maria ]. Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, light roasted, light burnt brown sugar. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, burnt caramel - brown sugar bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20100408]

The nose has some nice notes of orange rind and cinnamon. The flavor is sweet and malty and hits a lot of good notes as a winter warmer for me. The spice is not overpowering or artificial. The aftertaste could use a bit more bitterness, but the malt is a so nice that it’s not a big complaint. The look also works well for me as a winter warmer with deep, rich brown liquid and some alright lacing. It’s a very good beer and one of my favorite winter warmers.

Copper with a lasting off-white head. Aroma of brown sugar with a touch of cinnamon and other spices. Sweet and malty flavour with mild spices.
