Bottle from Systembolaget web shop. Hazy dark reddish brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, dark fruit and light spicy. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Sweet finish. I had this on the evening of the hottest day of the year where temperatures had reached more than 30 degrees. It still worked well :-) 020813

500ml Bottle - Dark brown with some red tinges. Berries, blackcurrant, walnuts, marzipan, cocoa and dried fruit in the aroma. Fruity, roasted and hopppy taste with notes of cocoa, raisins, marzipan and Christmas cake. Very nice.

Cask at The Bishops Arms (Gustav Adolfs Torg) Malmo. Deep reddish brown pour with a thin bubbly fast dispersing head. A dry yeasty aroma leading into a fruity, medium bitter taste. You could almost chew the fruit. This is a really heart warming flavourful ale and an ideal example of what a Christmas beer should be!

Cask@Akkurat (old backlog). Reddish brown colour with a mediumsized beige foamy head that leaves some lace. Aroma is bready and caramel malty with some slight toasted and coffeeish notes along with some ripe fruits, raisins and plum. Flavour is rather similar with some slight spicyness (yeastyness?) to it as well. would probably suit the Xmas food table rather well.

500 ml bottle bought @ Systembolaget and consumed on December 26. Pours clear amber with a creamy gray head that clings to the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty with pine, orange zest, allspice and some bread. Taste is rather subtle and malty with bread, orange zest and subtle hints of sassafras. Finish is slightly sweet and slightly bitter. --- Beer merged from original tick of Julöl on 06 Dec 2018 at 22:28 - Score: 7. Original review text: The cask serving style does wonders for it. Soft caramel!

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Clear reddish brown with a smallish off-white head. Medium body, sweet roasted malts, some dried fruits, berry-like notes and a whiff of smoke. Perhaps a touch of licorice as well. Some perfumy hoppiness comes late leaving some bitterness also. Interesting. 020210
