(On tap @ Grande Ourse, Kamouraska, QC, May 22/23) Pours nearly clear bright pale gold with a decent white cap that fades slowly leaving some lace. Notes of an interesting suite of boreal plants - conifer tip aromatics, labrador tea, some dune pepper, something floral and a touch perfumed, built on top of a base of crackery cereals, dry and crisp with a little acidity, lime with a bit of fragrent peel, soft yeat character (phenolic, no esters really), finish is bone dry and a bit mineral with soft conifer resins, peppercorns, softly bitter and herbal. Light body, lively carbonation, very refreshing but still with some complexity. I can see how this would be plain to some but it's very nicely executed (and not bad with a burger either!)
