(750ml bottle from the cidery webshop) Pours clear bright yellow-gold with a rapidly fizzing head and no lace. Aroma of bright sugared citrus (meyer lemon, grapefruit, orange), softly fragrant baking spices (allspice, clove, nutmeg), perfumed florals like lavender, touch of acetic twang but not heavily vinegary, not really 'pear' per se but the residual sugar pops through. Flavour is again juicy sweetened citrus off the top, tangerine and meyer lemon, lavender, soft baking spices, orange peels, certainly some pear notes in there too in the middle of the sip with the residual sugar, nice acidity but much more lactic than acetic on the tongue, finishing semi-dry with lingering notes of pear and orange peel accented with lavender, soft silky tannins and a little lactic quench. Light to medium bodied, oily, softly carbonated. Beautiful stuff, definitely among the most unusual perrys (perries?) I've had, complex and well-balanced surprising beverage.
