(750ml bottle from L'Axe du Malt) Pours slightly pink-tinged medium orange with a bit of a gush and a loose white head that fades rapidly. Aroma is a nice juicy but tannic eating apple juice vibe, tart but with light residual sugar, squeeze of bright 'grape juice' red grapes but a bit of skin tannin too, moderate hay and wet wood funk. Flavour is light sweet and moderate tart, floral fruity apples, a bit of a muscat bleu grape character but only light residual sweetness, a touch vinous, good apple and lactic acidity, maybe a touch of acetic, moderate funk, drying but puckering finish with some minerality and grape/apple aftertaste. Medium-bodied, oily to slick, but with filling carbonation. Really nice wild macerated cider, though I'd have actually taken more grape.
