(473ml can from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours murky orange-gold with a thick eggshell head and heavy lacing. Aroma of quite sweet peach, candied oranges and pineapples, mandarin peels, Sprite-like sweet lemon-lime soda too, basically a very sweet fruity nose though some bready lightly toasty malt does come out as it warms. Flavour is semi-sweet peach and orange up front and then dries out a lot by mid-sip, slightly powdery, soft bready malt, notes of orange peel and citrus pith, soft pineapple, dusty dry grass, hints of Kveik esters, dusty citrus bitters aftertaste. Light body, slightly slick, moderately but creamily carbonated. Kveik IPAs are a funny business sometimes and this is no different, but at the same time it's a solid brew despite the sweet-dry whiplash.
