(750ml 2019 vintage bottle from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours clear intense deep gold with a small but reviving loose white head and no lace. Aroma of semi-sweet red and gold apples, nice almost caramelized vibes to them, but with a tart edge, nice tannic structure, soft florals and a horseblanket overtone. Flavour is much drier than the nose might suggest, lightly tart and almost creamy apples, soft flowers, fine tannins, dusty attic funk, a little lactic action, fine tannin and funk in the aftertaste. Medium bodied with high but fine pet nat style carbonation that fills the mouth. The wild apple blend here doesn't necessarily have huge depth but it's nicely balanced dry wild cider for sure.
