Pours golden copper with a lively head. Avatar has a very floral nose while the taste is an elegant balance allowing the subtle flavor of jasmine to prevail while still delivering the I.P.A.’s essential hoppiness.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of citrus fruits, malt, and a bit of flowers. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, flowers, citrus, and some toffee, leading to a dry finish.

22 fl oz bottle. Pours cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is hoppy and fruity. Herbal and floral flavoured, light citrusy and subdued sweet malt presence. Light caramelish note to the floral flavoured base into the finish.

5th October 2008. Cloudy brown beer. Very frothy. Soft palate. The head is noticeably floral and sweet. The hops are there but more than offset by the floral sweetness. Just a touch of bitterness in the finish as well as the hops presenting a bit more with some marmaladey orange grapefruit. Very nicely balanced beer and off the beaten track!

On tap: pours a strange color for an IPA... kind of pinkish amber. Off-white head. Nice aroma, flowery, jasmine, nice hoppage. Really mild amount of hops for an IPA, not that it is a bad things. Kind of sweet. Like the below reviewer, I too drink jasmine green tea and while drinking this I wondered if the jasmine was in there or just a name. In any case, it is flowery and fruity, but not specifically jasmine. A pretty good and different take on the IPA.

Draught, on 28th July 2009 at Rattle & Hum, NYC. Gold, slightly hazy with creamy white head that collapses in a few minutes. Very pleasant rounded flavours and quite aromatic. Hops kick in after an initial creamy maltiness. Drinkers of UK real ale trying this for the first time will think Betty Stogs Bitter on its best form.
