Pours golden copper with a lively head. Avatar has a very floral nose while the taste is an elegant balance allowing the subtle flavor of jasmine to prevail while still delivering the I.P.A.’s essential hoppiness.

22 oz bottle purchased at 99 Bottles in Federal Way, Washington. SEPT 04 09 printed on label. Pour is hazed golden yellow with nice swirling settling building up a full 2 inch white head. Fair amount of lacing. Really pretty beer. Aroma is soft inviting floral hops and perfumy Jasmine. Some orange tangerine sweetness and toasty malt rounds out the nose. Nice gentle and fresh nose. Taste is grainy, bitter resin hops with the tangerine sweet (and slight sour) poking through. The Jasmine is present in the middle to finish, lending a nice earthy perfume element. The finish is dry, hop bitter and a little wet dirt. Aftertaste is long and dusty. Palate is medium, lighter carbonation. Interesting and drinkable beer.

Draught. Poured amber golden with thin white head. Little lacing. Very jasminey aroma with a bit of citrus. Hoppy flavour, tastes like an ale, not a jasmine tea. Hoppy finish. This ale had a bit of butteriness as well, which helped to balance the spicy food.

At a tasting, thanks david, dark orange colour with streaks of pomegrande red, the aroma begins with a sheet of mellow jasmine then developing into a complex flowery nose with notes of grapefruit, peach and honey. Hoppy bitterness too strong and overpowering, some fruit and gflowers hiding in the corner, pleasant long bitter aftertaste.

Pours clear gold with a thin white head. Weak hop and Jasmine aroma. The Jasmine in this kind of puts me off, I’m undecided about it. This has a melony characteristic to it.

OTH tasting 09/06/08. Bomber pours clear copper with thin white head. The aroma is sweet Jasmine infused with faint vague hoppiness. The taste has a nice blending of Jasmine, mild pine hops and citrus hops backed up by a consistent sweet maltiness. It ends kind of dry with lingering Jasmine tea and sweet malts. This brew is bold in its Jasmine and malty sweetness but seems to lack a firm hop presence, which it really needs. I’d love to try a hoppier version of this.

Bottle. Pours amber/orange, white head. Aroma is herbal and really has the note of jasmin. Taste is light, malty, filled with the strong presence of jasmin. Mouthfeel was very sweet and smooth. Something different that makes good use of this herb that one would be more used to see in a tea.

I really like this. Very good and unusual. Sour apple in the flavor and aroma, but it fits. Lots of flowers as well. The jasmine is unmistakable. Rocky head. Tons of sediment, which I assume is from the jasmine as well as yeast. Sweet malt and bitter hops with more flowers in the flavor. Smooth. Very creative. Thanks to Skyview for sharing.

An interesting choice of adjunct for an IPA - the jasmine actually comes through a lot more than I expected, as jasmine is quite mild - it is pretty strong in the flavor, and works really well with the hop profile - the malts are lean and biscuity, allowing the hops to dry out the finish - the odd vegetal quality I tasted in their regular IPA is also present in this one, but the hops and jasmine do a good job of covering it up - some herbal, tea-like components are also complimented well by the jasmine - pretty nice.
