Unique and limited edition, this Belgian-style ale is crafted once a year as a special treat for those of you who appreciate flavorful, bottle-conditioned ales with character.

Our Vintage Ale is a rich, dark, and full-bodied ale with a fine, generous, coffee-colored, beige foam. It's ready to enjoy right away and you may also wish to cellar a few bottles. It will evolve interestingly well, developing more complex flavors as the years go by. Keep the bottle upright in storage.

Brewed with a delicate balance of noble hops, roasted malts, and spices, this is a remarkably smooth ale with a wonderfully complex finish. It is best served slightly chilled, around 53 degrees Fahrenheit, and pairs exceptionally well with grilled salmon steaks, curried lamb, beef, or tuna au poivre.

C & C bottle. Warning, the cork flew out of this one explosively as soon as I loosened the wire. Deep mahogany, almost opaque, with a generous light tan head. Laces nicely. Aroma has brown sugar, spice and light anise. The flavor is not as sweet as the aroma hinted earlier. Spice, raisin, burnt sugar. Hides the alcohol well. Full bodied sipper.

750 c&c from Trader Joe's in Davis, CA. Pours a dark ruddy brown with a creamy/foamy tan head. Aroma is spice at first inhale. Might be ginger. Some dark fruit. Med + body or better. Flavor is spice. Seems ginger and there's some accompanying raisin or fig. Spice burn on the tongue. Might be some clove, but I'm still betting on ginger. Maybe both. The malt finally is discernible - dark roasty - somewhere between pale ale and stout. Suddenly I'm thinking of doppelbock. Enough. It's well worth enjoying. Might be worth putting a couple bottles aside for next year or beyond. I'm enjoying it!
