Lots of hay and light citrus in this. Pours cloudy golden with good head and lacing. Light bitter finish with some acidity. Kind of in between a saison and a hefeweizen. Tap at Max’s.

Tap @ Freshcraft. This is an old favorite of mine and I’m disappointed that it was removed from their year round lineup. Cloudy orange appearance with a fluffy white head. Big banana and clove, mildly spicy, yeasty, wheat aroma. Pretty sweet hefeweizen- lots of banana, clove, and sweet wheat maltiness with a touch of spiciness and a bit bready yeasty flavor. Sweet banana aftertaste. What a great session beer. This is the kind of beer that I like to take camping or out on a fishing boat and chug all day.

Karaktärstypisk med jästsmak, frukig och frisk. Lite tunn. Amerikanarna har svårt med veteöl.

My fiance blindly picked this beer out for me from the Gene’s Haufbrau beer menu, and turned out to be a decent blind pick. Classic hefe flavors on display here, meaning bananas and cloves and hay and oompah bands. Too watery, sure, but not a bad attempt at the style, compared to some of the more hideous hefes to which I’ve been submitted. (8/08)
