Odd meaty and yeasty aroma of clove and honey, rather like a glazed ham. Cloudy amber, thin head. Mild DMS, prominent clove, some orange notes, and decently hopped. Great hop finish. Decent beer, not very authentic, slightly tainted..

Bottle Pours a slightly hazy plae golden with a creamy white head. Thin silky lacing. Very light malt, slightly citrus and a tad of the german spicyness of the Bavarian style. Light and sweet flavors. A bit of honey, slightly bananaish and some lemon notes as well. Moderate carbonation and a light clean palatte. Not bad

Bottle. Pours a hazy dark orange color with a longlasting off-white head. Malty wheat aroma with lots of bananas and cloves and some spicy hints. Sweet malty spicy banana and clove flavor. Wheaty malty finish with bananas in the aftertaste.

Hazy orange body with a small frothy white head. Aroma of spice and some orange peel. Sweet spice flavor, some banana hints, and a touch of orange peel in the end.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Hazy golden with a creamy, white head. Aroma of yeast and banana. Medium-bodied with lots of great fruit esters - loads of banana and citrus. Dry, lightly sulphurous finish. This is a genuine Hefe and furthermore an excellent representative of the style. Proof that American brewers indeed can make decent wheat beers. 020406

Bottle. Apple, banana, and clove aroma. Light yellow color - clear with little head and moderate efferverscence. Sweet banana and wheat malt flavor with hints of peach. High acidity. Very good for an American Weizen but average overall.

Cloudy yellow-light-brownish wih a small head. Light banana scent, with some gumminess in there. Flavor is pretty banana, with nice spiced clove in there. Kinda wheaty... definitely a nice hefeweizen.

2004 bottle. Tabernash Weiss. Mildly golden ale with pale yellow tinges and a big white head. Small bubbles and a decent dose of sediment. Aroma of light lemon and wheat, hints of clove and a touch of bubblegum. Flavor is moderately citrusy, though not terribly tart. Lightly bittersweet yeast apparency on the finish, with some wateriness. Hints of clove and banana, but very subtle there. Well balanced and drinkable. 6/4/7/4/16
2005 bottle (11/08/05), drunk on 3/19/06. Left Hand Haystack. The bottles just showed up at our store in the last week or so, but yet they are 4.5 months old already...Same appearance as noted before, though not too much retention, no lacing. The nose is candy-sweet bubblegum, very sugary, with light hay, notes of dry bananas here and there with a dominating malted wheat dryness. The flavor is almost sickly sweet. Sugary bubblegum, tart-sour wheat heaviness. Sweet and ending bland. Almost no crispness, no lively hop activity, overcarbonated even after sitting out for quite a while and warming. Loose, watery texture. 5/3/5/2/10 Score is an average of the two bottles I’ve had. The Tabernash sure seemed a lot different than the Haystack.

Pours a cloudy yellow. Head goes away quickly. Aroma is wheaty and nice. Flavor is wheat and bananas. An ok hefe but nothing like its German brothers.
