75cl bottle (nᵒ 14115/20000, BBF: 08/2025) from Cora in Brussels as my beer #3800 from Belgium.
F: big, egg-white, good retention.
C: gold, hazy.
A: banana, vanilla, cognac, woody, pineapple, spicy, caramel touch.
T: full malty base, woody, banana, pineapple, spicy, nice tannins, some like honey sweetness from base tripel, cognac of course, medium carbonation, I was not expecting great beer here so enjoyable for me.

Bottle 4133/9000. Pours a cloudy yellow with a big white head. Aroma of sweet malts, fruits, yeast, a slight cognac. Medium sweetness, boozy finish. I was hoping for more of a cognac aroma (as the nose promised...), but I enjoyed my bottle regardless. Generally I don’t think much of Kasteel so I was glad to find one that I like, even though it is overpriced.

June 2020: Shared 750 ml bottle, thanks to gunnar. Deep golden colour, large to moderate white head. Spicy and oaky aroma, slightly oxidised. Oaky flavour, again slightly oxidised, but not unpleasant. Decent bittering hops, some kandij sugar.

opalescent golden to bright orange colour, medium sized dense ecru-ish white head; aroma of honey, grape (peel), cognac, vanilla, fruity (pear and apple peel), some citric, earthy and Belgian yeasty notes; taste is similar to the aroma with some bittery notes; the high ABV is not fully hidden, but otherwise it's an almost perfect strong Belgian beer

2018 edition (I believe). Golden colour, white head. Aroma's of cognac, fruit, a little bit oxidized. Flavour is sweet, vinous. Above medium bodied.

Fles 75cl 2013 versie. Oranje bruin bier met schuim. Smaak is warm en krachtig, bitterzoet en intens met iets van appel, druiven,vanille en wat perzik. Krijg de indruk dat het lange rijpen de kleur wat donkerder en de smaak meer in balans gebracht heeft.

Fles gedeeld door JvW. Goudgeel helder bier met matig schuim dat als een film blijft liggen. Aroma van vanille, aardbei en appel. Smaak van cognac en is zoetig, appel, banaan. Nasmaak is licht bitter en heeft wat pittigs.

Fles gedeeld door JoepvW, geprobeerd met familie. Het is een licht troebel oranje bruin bier met een medium witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een aroma van hout, cognac en vanille. De smaak is cognac achtig, warm en zacht met tonen van appel.

Bottle dregs thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - hazy golden , thin off white lacing. Nose - bready, wood and apple strudel. Taste - wood spice, probably cinnamon or nutmeg. And an oloroso sherry or tawny port oxidised thing going on. Fresh apple or cooking apple clean up the finish. Interesting. Palate - tangy and medium bodied. Dry, tangy finish. Overall - very complex. And pretty good.
