3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze Cuvée Armand & Gaston is a blend of one-, two-, and three-year old traditional lambics, all brewed at Brouwerij 3 Fonteinen. Spontaneous fermentation, patient maturation in oak barrels, and continued evolution in the bottle result in a distinctively complex beer. No two bottlings are alike, as there are multiple variables in the blending process, a variety of barrel sizes and shapes, differences in aged lambic proportions, etc. This cuvée, like all of our lambic, is 100% natural, authentic, spontaneously fermented, and crafted with steadfast adherence to tradition, like Armand and Gaston Debelder have always done it. This geuze has fermented in the bottle and will continue to develop its tastes and aromas over its long life when properly cellared. Traditional Lambic is living, cultural heritage rooted in the Zenne valley! Taste, savour, enjoy, and experience this unfiltered, unpasteurised, and unadulterated beer with friends new and old!

Bottle. Dark golden, short lasting head. Good funk here, but it also has some walnuts, dry oak, leathery tannins, green berries. Quute dry and oaky, bit fizzy. Nice, but probably better with a bit more age.

37.5 bottle, bit over 6 years old. Clear dark golden. Lots of bright funk, light caramel, lemon peel. Ywah this is really good. Less explosive then when fresh both in aroma as carbonation, but it's still very lively and fizzy with amazing aroma.
In 2022: 37.5 cl bottle again. This is so good, one of the best beers I’ve ever tried. I really want to open a 75cl, but I only have two left. What to do?

Bit darker golden than usual. Huge pop when uncorking. Lovely crisp funk, citrus, green apple, light wood. Lots of sparkly carbonation. Slightly overcarbonated, but otherwise amazing. 3F at their best.

Blend 7 16/17. yellow hazy color, rather big white head. smells cheesy, earthy, grassy, very peppery, dusty, spices, some malty notes, nice to very nice smell. full body, pearly carbonation. tastes citric, grassy, earthy, cheese, peppery, some horse radish, spices, funky, oak. finishes lightly dry, lightly sour and actually rather on the bitter side with notes of horse radish, pepper and some cheesy notes. this gets a lot better when warm, great cheesy and oak notes, very good one.

25.10.2021: Taster at home courtesy of Sander, big thanks. yellow hazy color, small white head. smells quite funky, earthy, some horse radish, bit rubbery, horse blanket. nice smell. full body, soft carbonation. tastes sweet, some stone fruits, hay, nutty, earthy, light herbs, grassy. finishes lightly sour with notes of hay, stone fruits and some nutty notes. very nice one, very subtle balance, taste is super smooth.. very good one, this should age great.

Bottled 26/10/17. Gorgeous clear light copper, fine white head. Smell is deeply funky, dusty barn attic. Light, with soft carbonation. Taste is lightly sour, dry, minerals. Good bit of barnyardy funk, some dried apple, and quite citrussy. Lovely blend.
