Pour is a black with a small tan head. Aroma is lots of roasted malt but very little of the coffee shows up. Flavor is about the same but a little watery. A nice roasted malt with a bit of dark chocolate but almost no coffee. As a stout this is just ok but this is deffinatly not a founders breakfast stout.

Pretty dark black shows a reddish brown at the edge, with a short lived foaming beige head. Aroma is lightly roasty with a touch of molasses. Flavor is bittersweet, with some molasses and dry roasted qualities, ashy finish. Very little coffee. Mildly astringent/husky.

22 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Charlottesville, batch 08-0410. Pours dark brown with a thin head on the top of the beer adhering to the glass around the beer’s surface. Pretty strong coffee in the aroma with some roasted malts and leafy hops. Taste is roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and subtle hops in the background. Medium bodied and fairly bitter.

2008 Bottle, Batch 08-0410. Claims to be an imperial on the side of the bottle. Pours with a large, fluffy, light brown head that leaves good lacing around the near black body. Aroma of chocolatee, coffee, sweet malt, a bit of alcohol and brown sugar. Taste is nutty with a bit of roast and a touch of alcohol, and dark cooking chocolate (very bitter chocolate). Lively bubbles and a bit thin for a self proclaimed impy stout.

Blame Starbuck's for this passing of this gem. I was told they wanted $1,000,000. to continue using the Starbuck's name on the bottle. Big and bold from start to finish, this was a real Stout lover's Stout. Rich complex and roasty with plenty of malt & hops. I don't even like Starbuck's coffee, this classic need to be reborn with a new coffee supplier.

Coffee and not bitter coffee. its like a nice vanilla cappucino with extra sugar. somehow the sweetness dosent detract. not overly creamy though and it is medium to heavy bodied. I loved it, definitely would buy more.
