33cl bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - bright amber with a decent bit of lacing. Nose - toffee malt, maybe some porridge. Taste - toffee malt and a slight hint of redcurrants but you have to look for it. Palate - close to medium bodied, with a creamy texture and a finish that is somewhere between refreshing and cloying. Overall - a solid 80 shilling, I’d say.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Aromas of toffee and malt, light red fruit. Taste is more of the same. Bit nondescript.

Nitro-can to pint glass: Pours a gentle somewhat dark brown with an adequate one finger white head that drops at a nice pace; Rich English malts grace the nose pretty well; the taste is pretty much the same along with a rich malty sweet aftertaste, quick English malty finish; overall; good Scottish Ale that I would have again, probably go exceptionally well with a nice vegetable and beef stew

Half liter clear bottle from Harris Teeter Barracks Charlottesville, opened 11/19/13. Pours a clear red-amber color with a medium sized frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Caramel and tea aromas behind a heavy mask of skunkiness. The taste is caramel malts, earthy hops, mild raisin and chocolate. Medium bodied. 50th Scottish ale!

Deep mahogany with thick creamy offwhite head. Aroma is caramel malt, dark fruit, bread. Taste is toffee malt, dark fruit, bread, peat.

Can 0.44l, thanks to FatPhil. Colour is clear copper with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Sweetness, caramel and malts. Too sweet.

(Can, 0.44 l, courtesy of FatPhil, 20130914) The beer poured pale mahogany and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, molasses and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, sweetness, a hint of fruitiness and some bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and mildly bitter. Way too sweet.

Nitro Can: Bubbled, cloudy, red-amber with a whipped nitro head. Caramel, bready aroma. Taste is malty, creamy, caramel-toffee, nutty... Slight herbal/floral bitter. Not bad.
