Gravicask, 1/3 pint, shared with Finn at GBBF Winter '23. Beige, bubbly head, near black in the glass, scattered lacing. Roasted dark malty aromas, hints of dried fruits. Blended malt-forward flavours of chocolate, figs and biscuit, followed by a note of liquorice to a moderately roasted end. Nice mild ale. (Burton upon Trent, 17.02.2023).

Cask at the Peterborough beer Festival 2018. A clear copper brown coloured pour with a a lasting loose dirty tan head. Aroma is nutty brown malts, apricot jam, light Figgy pudding. Flavour is composed of raisin loaf, tangy grape jelly, brown sugars, burnt cake. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, decent cask condition. Good.

Cask at the Hamilton Hall, JDW - London. Pours clear, rich brown with reddish hints and a creamy, tan head. The aroma holds tangy berries, toasted brown bread, nips of earth. Light sweet flavour with fairly prominent lightly tangy dried dark berries, more brown bread, faint toffee. Finishes with further ripe, dried dark berries, mellow earthy bitterness, basic brown bread. So so overall.

Half-pint in my local Wetherspoon’s on 9th June 2017. Dark brown with a good head that gave some impressive lacing. Bramble fruits, hedgerow fruits and berries in both the nose and taste. Liked it.

Pours a dark red brown colour with a foamy off light beige head. Aroma is malt and fruit, bread, some toffee, raisins and plum. Quite sweet, plenty of rich dark fruit, raisin, prune and some bready malt flavours and a light mild bitterness in the finish.
