500ml bottle @ Nosturi. Pours dark brown with a smooth head. Aroma of metallic notes, hints of roastiness and earthiness. Taste is smooth, stuffy and metallic with hints of earthy malts and roastiness. Finish is smooth and watery with hints of earthiness and metallic notes. A bit unbalanced.

Many thanks to Finn for a 500ml bottle of this one. Elegant look with a deep mahogany coloured body topped by a fair, fawn-coloured head. Fragile lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel malts added by an herbal touch. Malt-fruity taste of caramel and sweet stewed fruits. Prolonged sweet ending, little to keep the sweetness at bay. Alright for a few sips, way too sweet in the long run (Friday eve at home in Tromsø 06.11.2015).

Pen flaske 500ml fra Alko Muonio. Drukket på Nerstranda 26 Okt 15. Veldig mørk brun. Pent skum med litt farge. Holder seg lenge. Litt lacing. Litt beskjeden malt/karamellaroma med underliggende frukt. Smaken lik. Bra fylde - men blir litt tung-drikkelig. Bra balanse. Svakt syrlig etter hvert.

Bottle 0.5l from local Alko, Riihimäki. BBE 30.01.16. Colour is clear reddish light brown with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Caramel, some chocolate, sweetness, syrup and malts. Too sweet and style is a mess.

50cl bottle. Poured light brown in color with a thick off white head. Toasted malt, caramel, molasses, sweetness in aroma. Flavor is similar, quite sweet, mild bready. Easy to drink, but too sweet for my taste, also thin body. Ok with food though.

Bottled (from Alko Prisma, Vaasa). Ambery brown colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is caramel, mild toasted notes, nutty and some mildly sourish wooden notes. Flavour is quite similar, but without the sourish wooden edge to it. Pleasantly balanced, and this one would probably suit food really well.

Bottled 500ml (Alko)
Dark brown color, small beige head. Aroma is ryeish-caramelly, very typical East European dark lager smell. Medium-bodied. Caramel, a bit of chocolate. Syrupy sweetness. Suprisingly (compared to some other Kalnapilis brews) clean. Typical East European dark lager/lager yeast porter, even when it’s ale.

A dark brown, a head is almost medium and beige. Aroma has caramel malt and some dried fruits. Taste has strong caramel some roastiness, no bitterness. Quite light bodied, and not even smooth. Weak beer and too much of caramel sweetness.
