A traditional Scottish ale brewed with an emphasis on the malt characteristics. Lightly hopped, as is true to this style of beer, with fruity malt aromas and a toffeeish mouth feel.

500ml bottle from Sainsbury. Attractive clear dark brown with very thin beige head. Some malt on the aroma. Sweetish malts, some crystal in here I guess then. Bit of milk choc. There is a little musitness that makes me think that the bottling isnβt as clean as it should be. Itβs a malty bitter, with some good and poor malt flavours at the same time.
