Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Clear ruby, brief head. Aroma of cherries. Sweet and fizzy with medium body and clean crystal malt profile. Has the malt character of un unambitious American brewpub chain’s amber ale, but they usually cover it up by using aromatic hops. Here that is missing too. Finishes slightly metallic. A disappointment.

Cask gravity dispense at Red Lion, Isleworth. Beer of the Beagle II Mars lander apparently. Chestnut colour with no head. Malty beer, but with good hop finish. A bit like Theakson XB used to be. Some dry malt on aroma, bit of coffee, but then flavours fade

A slightly hazy red beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of berries and caramel. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of berries - especially cowberries, but also hints of acidity and wood, leading to a dry end.
