Rhymney Export 5.0% Our strongest and most popular ale, multiple award winning and full flavoured. A heady flavour from a combination of six malts, carefully and skilfully mixed by hand, which we believe provides an ale of exceptional character. Full bodied yet rounded, serious but eminently quaffable. Very fine and toothsome!

Cask at JDW Standing order Edinburgh ... nice copper ... thin tan head ... sweet woody malts ... big dry hop front ... quite bitter fruity ... but dry bitterness ruins.

Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading. Gold with a thin white head; peppery hop aroma; smooth and malty with some caramel and a hink of black treacle; well-balanced English hops to finish. Satisfying.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 19/04/09. Copper coloured with a moderate off-white head. Plenty of fruity malts, with some caramel and a hint of spicy hop in the finish. Ok.

Cask, Great Western, Cardiff. Dark reddish brown colour with next to no head. Sweet and malty with some fruit and a dryish finish. Drinkable, but reeks of mediocrity.

Bottled. Reddish amber, average head. Aroma of strawberry and grain. Medium sweet and medium bodied with clean, rounded mouthfeel. Finishes with low bitterness. Dominated by strawberry flavour.

Cask gravity at London Drinker BF 07. Chestnut colour with thin off white head. Bit ugly on the malt. Bit ugly everywhere to be honest. Faint hop on the dry finish.
