Manchester Beer & Cider Festival 2016. Black coloured ale. A little thin tasting, but very pleasantly smoked in both aroma and taste.

Cask at the Beer Emporium, Bristol. Black in colour with an average size, lasting tan colour head. Aroma of malt, roasted chocolate and peat. Rather dry feel. Body is medium-full, slick texture, with soft carbonation. Enjoyable beer.

Cask at GBBF ’13, 15/08/13 thanks to Ronny for the pour. Light black/v dark mahogony brown with a thinnish light tan head that clears to a swirl/edgeing. Nose is dark toffee, light smoke, mineral notes, light chocolate. Taste comprises cardboard, light smoke, dark toffee, thinner than the aroma. Light to medium in body, a little on the watery side. So so stout affair.

Cask @ Castle Tavern, Inverness
Black, thin tan bubbly head, some lacing
Aroma of deep roasted malts...dark caramel...molasses
Taste of dark roasted malts, some smoke, background of bitter hops, some trecle, lots of burnt notes, lots of flavour mainly burnt roast
Palate - soft carb, thin to medium body, quite viscous. Finish - burnt bitter crust, perhaps bit over burnt for my liking
Overall - lots of flavour for this 4% stout but relies a bit too much on burnt roast

Cask at Market Porter, London. Pous dark brown with a medium, beige head. Holds a dark, hard malt nose, with light cocoa and roast. Bittersweet flavor, a bit ashy, with some char and bitter, dark chocolate. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. The finish is very dry and roasty, with mild, malty sugars and lingering peat and earth impressions. Solid stout.
