A rich aroma of hops and malt develops a full texture in the mouth. It has a long, deep, bitter-sweet finish. Without doubt an exceptional best bitter.
Ingredients: Maris Otter pale malt. Challenger and East Kent Goldings hops.

The aroma is earthy and a bit caramelly. The flavour is mostly caramelly, with a mild bitterness. A fairly uneventful bitter.

Half, cask well kept at The Carpenters Arms, in Marble Arch. Creamy head on top of a deep, dark amber body. Sweet malty aroma. The taste profile goes in the direction of caramel malts offset by hints of spices and pronounced bitterness to the finish. Soft on the swallow. Quite likeable (London, 03.08.2009).

Cask@GBBF2009. Deep amber colour, small head. Aroma is nutty, diacetylic, wooden and rather sweet overall. Flavour is much the same. Wooden and chocolateish notes in the finish.

Cask@GBBF 2009. Dark amber color, no head. Diacetylic toffee aroma. Diacetyl, toffee, some harsh grassy hops. Dryish woody aftertaste. Bottled version was better.
