Golden bitter. Triple-hopped with citrus flavour which balances well with a biscuity maltness. Named after the beach at Southport back when it was a beach and not an up-and-coming marshland.

50cl bottle, a gift from my daughter after a business trip to Southport. A bright straw coloured pour with a scummy looking white head; musty citrus aroma; caramel malt taste; with a toasty finish with a herbal bitterness. A fairly standard golden ale.

From a bladder bag/box in the buffet on the train from Thurso to Inverness, 20/10/13. Lightly hazed golden amber with little in the way of a head. Nose is bitter orange, toasted malts, light hop notes. Taste comprises orange pith, bitter citric fruit, toasted malts. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry finish with light grassy notes. Mediocre GB.
