Bottle 22fl.oz.Clear dark dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is light heavy malty, roasted, burnt, chocolate, coffee, vanilla. Flavor is moderate to heavy chocolate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20091123]

dark brown almost black, light brown smooth head. aroma of roasted grains, coffee, quite dry. very sharp and precise aroma. also faint chocolate. very nice. roasted grains dominate but well balanced. flavor is roasted grains, faint sour, coffee, brown sugar.

Near black with a medium beige head. Sweet aroma with hard roasted malt, dark chocolate and coffee notes. Sweet flavour with burned espresso, dark bitter chocolate and burned malt. Finished sweey. Lovely.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, coffee, and wood. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of dark milk chocolate and caffe latte, as well as some notes of wood and roasted malt, leading to a dry roasted coffee finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

22 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy dark with a brown head. Dry and chocolate roasted malt aroma. Mild smoked and roasted caramelish malt flavoured. Mild sweetness and vague smoked note coming through into the finish. Sweet and smoked into the finish.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of bu11zeye. Pours an opaque black with a light brown head. Distinct coffee and vanilla in the nose. Solid body, a little low in carbonation with ashy coffee accents. Hard roasted malts and vanilla. Some malt bitterness. Very decent. 231109

courtesy of BA trade. Pours blackish with nice mahogany head. Aroma, malty with nice roast, some hints of vanilla and possible lactose. Coffee comes out nicely. Flavor, thick mouthfeel, good roast, and coffee beans, some hints of lactose adding a mocha dimension. Lingering chocolate bitterness, hints of caramel and grains. Medium body, finish is velvety.

Bomber. Opaque black body. Creamy tan head that slowly diminishes. Nice aroma of dark roasted coffee, roasted malts, caramel, molasses. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium to full body with a velvety texture and medium carbonation. Long, sticky bitter aftertaste. This tastes like sweetened, thick, rich coffee that ends up bitter. Some chocolate notes come through as the beer warms. Not overly complex for an imperial stout, but a nice balance of what’s there.

Bottle, local liquor store, Boston. Black colour, tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and chocolate. Flavour has roasted malts, coffee and hops. Nice bitterness.

On tap at the Bocktown, nice place. Nice and dark but does not have a head. There is a tea froth on there. Smells like strong coffee and looks somewhat like coffee. Initial taste is blck coffee. Reminds me of the whiskey laced black coffee grampa used to drink after work. Oily coffee initial tastes, and then the coffee bitterness lingers after each slug. Alky easily shows thru in the brew. Coffee, coffee and coffee, what else can be said. Like many of these coffee style brews. Finish is black coffee, what else?
