Many Mexican beer styles today are descendants of old Austrian styles, from when Austria ruled Mexico in the late 19th century. Our Dos Perros is made with German Munich malt, English Pale malt, and Chocolate malt, and hopped with Perle and Saaz hops. To lighten the body, as many Mexican brewers do, we add a small portion of flaked maize. The result is a wonderfully bready malt aroma, balanced with some maize sweetness and a noble hop finish.

Draft at Yazoo. Pours a clear brownish amber with a finger of foam that lingers. Toasted malt aroma with some light cocoa and faint maple leaf. Easy drinking and well balanced. Smooth with light maple leaf, whole grain bread & honey with a light chocolate note.

On tap at the Nashville Airport. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is toasted malt and spice. Slick body, bread, raisin, licorice, light dry finish, good.

Bottle from Kroger, Cookeville, Tennessee. Clear mid-brown with a small head. Has a fairly regular lager-style nose, with a little more of the dark malt influence in taste.

Thanks Tim for the bottle.
This was poured into a stange.
The appearance was a semi-dark brown color with a fingers worth of white foamy head that fell off at a moderate pace. Some lace.
The aroma had some sweet to semi-bitter grabbing malts playing with some chocolate, grass, dark bread, and corn. Light hop spice, somewhat piney.
The flavor was moderately sweet with the breadiness coming in at first to overpower the rest of the aromas that come out in the taste. Aftertaste was semi-sweet with an embracing bitterness rolling about. Finish was moderately sticky.
The palate was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt as projected.
Overall, altbier? Is that what the brewer said or just what we have listed on ratebeer? Hmmmm...in my opinion, I dont think its an altbier, but its decent for what it is as there arent any off flavors.

Draught @ Albion. Clear copper/amber with very small frothy whitish head that was gone instantly, very faint caramel aroma, medium carbonation, light caramel taste, thin watery body, abrupt finish. Not a great brew.

Lightly sweet with a toffee-and-caramel middle with mild coffee notes. Come across both too sweet and too light; needs firmer hopping to shore up the sugariness that comes as it warms. Mild Saaz finish, but the fade is fast and forgettable.
