Aged for four months in bourbon barrels from the distillery in Kentucky, the Bourbon Barrel Stout is a robust yet balanced beer. Roasted malts give it a chocolate and coffee overtone, and the oak creates hints of vanilla and caramel. At 10.5% ABV, this stout pairs well with smokey barbeque sauce or even rich desserts.

Post Borefts I Invasion of Fonefan and Charlottes room tasting! Opaque black stout - creamy head. Good carbonation and a soft palate. Soft woody dark malt with a nicely judged amount of bourbon. Light for it’s abv but warming.

750ml bottle. Darkest brown with a small lacing tan head. Bourbon aroma almost rules out every other note. OK, there is some roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, naturally lots of vanilla. But it’s the same with taste: Bourbon. It’s not that I don’t like this - but how do I rate a beer completely cowered under the barrel’s regime?

750 ml bottle. My bottle reads 11.5 % ABV. Pours inky black with a nice rocky mocha head that sticks around forever, leaving nice cobwebby lace. Aroma is chocolate milk, coffee, wood, beautiful. Taste is mostly sweet with bitterness there but taking a backseat. The alcohol is extremely well-hidden. This is so smooth. Mouthfeel is creamy, carbonation is average. Not in your face like a lot of barrel aged imperial stouts. It’s more subtle and very tasty. I’ve always loved Impy Stouts, but I started to get bored with them awhile back. I can’t even remember the last time I had one (goddam alcohol in the brain). Drinking this reminds me of why I love the style. Thanks to my brother for this!

Bottle from ? Pours dark brown with a few tan bubbles. Aroma of bourbon/vanilla. Med body. Flavor of bourbon is strong. There’s some cola and smooth dark burnt malt with a light touch of oak. It’s good, but it could use more oak.

Bottle as shown. Pours a dark brown with medium frothy light tan head. Aroma is vanilla oak and alcohol. Medium mouthfeel with sweet malt and chocolate and oak finish. Alcohol present but not too overpowering, a good Imperial stout from Odell.

Bottled. A brown beer. The aroma has notes of alcohol, whiskey, roasted malt, and an odd candy note. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of whiskey, roasted malt, and alcohol, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. The alcohol burns.
