Our tribute to the "devil" beers of Belgium. This beer is light in color with a full flavor and dry finish. Be careful, as it may sneak up on you. After receiving a cease-and-desist letter on behalf of musician Ozzy Osbourne, the Baltimore brewery has renamed its Ozzy beer Beazly. It is named after Mark Barcus, a bartender of the Mount Vernon bar for nearly 17 years. His nickname around the bar is Beazly.

Draft at the source. Poured a pretty clear straw yellow color with a lot of carbonation and a fizzy, white head. Aroma was lemon citrus, crisp malts. Flavor was lemon citrus, malt, and fruity and some light spicy notes from the yeast. Pretty enjoyable. The GF liked this one a lot.

Golden with a white head. Aroma was a bit vegetal to begin with but that quickly faded. Found that to be rather odd. Sweet malts, fruity, light yeast, a touch of spice, and bright fruit. Maybe slight honey. Good brew.

Bottle shared with MrBarleywine, thanks for the opportunity Mike! Pours a slightly hazy deep golden color with a smallish white head that dissipates slowly. Smells of sweet and candy sugar with a hint of citrus and a bit of light caramel, pepper and spice. The flavor is malty sweet with sweet sugars up front that are sandwiched between tangerine and orange peel. Light pepper and spice with a hint of yeasty funk before a sweet lingering finish. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet slick mouthfeel. Nice Belgian ale, a bit sweet and fruity but so easy to drink.

Location: 750 ml bottle from State Line, 8/23/12

Aroma: The nose has a little funk, Belgian-style yeast, some spice, and fruity notes
Appearance: It pours a slightly cloudy orange color with a bright, foamy white head
Flavor: The taste is fairly sweet, with some funk, and a little bit spicy bitterness for balance
Palate: The body is medium, it is fairly smooth, with an average-to-soft carbonation, and a dry, spicy finish
Overall Impression: Wow, I didn't realize I had rated 0 Brewer's Arts beers. Anyway, this is a pretty tasty one, it isn't an absolute world beater or anything, but it is a very solid, quality, well-made example of the style.
