A robust renovation of the India Pale Ale. Assertive dry-hoppying provides an aromatic telltale nose, indicative of the bitter symphony to follow. Bold hop character with lively grapefruit and citrus notes.

355ml bottle at home. Almost clear golden orange color with off white head. Aroma is hoppy and malty, pine, citrusy fruity, light grassy, caramel. Sweet and heavy bitter taste like aroma. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.

Pour is a murky orange with a large white head. Aroma is a decent pungent hop with a bit of sweet malt. Flavor is an ok hop but it’s followed by a very heavy and cloying sweet malt. Thick mouthfeel with some molasses sugary sweet malt. Here is another IPA that has way too much malt presence and after awhile this hops lose their mojo and it turns into a malt heavy bomb.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 5/1/2014. Pours lightly cloudy deep orange copper color with a 2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, caramel, brown sugar, bread, floral, grass, light pine, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity and well balanced citrus hops and caramel/bready malt sweetness; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, caramel, brown sugar, bread, floral, grass, pine, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, floral, grass, pine, caramel, brown sugar, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity of juicy citrus hops and a good amount of caramel/bready malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a moderately slick and sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a small warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice DIPA style. All around good complexity and balance of juicy citrus hops and caramel/bready malt sweetness; and quite smooth to sip on for the big ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle: Pours cloudy amber with a frothy, light tan head. Aroma is caramel, bread. Taste is caramel, woody bitter. Sort of a dusty, dirty bitter. Very disappointing....dull.

12 ounce bottle in snifter. Dark amber/orange. Caramel malt, light on hops and bitterness. High ABV is apparent and the flavor doesn’t stand up to it.
