An abundance of roasted malts and flaked barley create a rich, roasty stout with deeply intense, lush flavors. Layered, nuanced tones invite intrigue and reward a curious palate.

Bottle shared. Thanks Gregg! The nose has some light coconut and vanilla bt is basically Dr. Pepper all the way. Alcohol is well integrated and completely non-existent basically. Super smooth and dare I say quaffable. A fun beer.

Dark brown color. Very smooth Dr Pepper with Cola and very dry nose with some wheat and cacao. The mouth is super smooth with the abv well hidden. Dry with lots of cracked wheat and dark chocolate, cacao. Intense cacao. So well balanced. Perfectly executed.for the abv it’s really amazing

22 oz bottle from de Bierkoning @ home. 2014 edition (11.5%). Black color. Beige head with reasonable retention. Aroma’s: chocolate, sweet roasted malts, molasses, with mocha, molasses and some (red) fruits retronasal. Flavor is mocha-ish sweet, roasted, light drop. Body is medium to full. Finish of heavy roast, moderate bitter. Quite awesome - would love to try a barrel aged version of this.

A ton of booze makes this come on way too strong. Some roast and dark chocolate, but it doesn’t hang together very well. Bittersweet finish. Tap at Black Squirrel.

22 oz. bottle shared from Joe. Pours black, with a small, tan head. Aroma is dark chocolate, caramel, molasses, cinnamon, oak, sherry, and earth. Very sweet, with very minimal roasted bitterness. Heavy body, smooth, syrupy, and thick. Overall, this is a flavorful and complex stout. More here than just the standard coffee and burnt toast. Smooth and delicious.

22 oz. bottle purchased @ Binny’s Lincoln Park, Chicago. 2013 vintage. Brown head that dissipated slowly. Aroma of licorice, dark chocolate, dark fruit and light roast. Flavor starts with chocolate, caramel and molasses. Licorice in the middle of the sip with a strong alcohol bite in the finish that tells me it’s young. Big warming sensation after the swallow. Sticky, kind of syrupy mouthfeel with a full body. Sweet and boozy. Good
