Bottled. A deep red beer with a huge bubbly orangey head. The aroma has strong notes of berries and fruit as well as notes of wheat and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, malt, wheat, fruit, berries, bread, and citrus, leading to a dry wheaty and berry finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Hazy mahogany color; poor head retention. The aroma has a suspicious apple feeling, with the caramel, and very light chocolate. Weak mouthfeel, some caramel flavor, but very boring indeed. Correct bitterness.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of brentfeesh. Pours a clear warm orangey brown with a bubbly beige head. Aroma of mould and roasted malts. Medium body, sweet roasted malt and caramel - a whiff of wood perhaps. Very carbonated and lively. Still a fusty touch. No real bitterness. Something is not quite right here. 220909

Bottle from a trade with captaincougar. Sent in a picture to be uploaded. Bottle hand marked 4/08. Pours with a huge, light brown head and a hazy dark brown body. Good lacing. Aroma is sweet, unfinished beer with some fruitiness. Taste is tobacco, sweetness, nuts, long duration. Light bubbles, a bit of alcohol, and kind of syrupy.

Sampled at Dickinsonbeer’s Hoboken gathering - fizzy clear brown beer - sticky lace - aroma of spices and strong nuttiness - there is a similar nutty character in the flavor, along with some very light spices - none of the earthy complexities of most good dunkelweizens - nothing stand out here, but tasty enough.
