XXXX IPA is a non-traditional American IPA with a brilliant copper color and the classic citrus nose of Cascade Hops. It demonstrates a unique balance between malt-inspired, red grapefruit sweetness and lingering hop dryness.

Bottled 355ml. -at O’Hara Zagreb. Clear amber coloured, small off-white head, caramel and alcohol in the nose. Moderate sweet malty, caramel, dried fruits, hops and alcohol with pretty short and weak finish for nearly 10%ABV.

Bottle at O’Hara Zagreb, with Ribafish (huge thanks Marin & co!). Poured a darker amber body with an off white head that went away relatively fast. Sweet earthy, more malty than hoppy aroma, ok. Though I feared that would mean a sugar bomb, the taste disproved me quickly - lemongras-forward hop, on dry maltiness - slightly figgy, caramelly, which is overrun by a good bitterness. Quite tasty beer, I like it!

65 cl bottle bb 12/2014, 9.25%, 70 IBU, 5€. Dark copper color, hazed, big expanding creamy offwhite/beige head. Strong IPA smell on the nose. Aroma is a load of caramel malts and huge amounts of american hops. Some fruity ester, grapefruit, rose, orange zest, red wine. Taste is sweetish ending up in a tight bitterness. Rock solid aromatic IPA, the 9.25% is very well hidden, while the 70 IBU is biting. Full body, soft carbonation, medium-long finish. Very good IPA.

Bottle shared by my uncle Ino. Clear dark orange to light reddish color, medium sized beige head. Aroma is malts, lightly caramel, slightly a distant hint of dark fruits and lightly hops. Taste malts, decently bitter, caramel again lightly, lightly dark fruits, light to moderately hoppy and perhaps a slight hint of alcohol. Decent body and quite soft carbonation. More easy to drink than I had expected. OK beer.

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a hazy golden burnt orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light lacing sticking and then slowly sliding into the beer.
The smell had some burnt caramel malts with a subdued bready toffee up front. Eventually, the sweet citrus hops make their way out but it takes a while.
The taste was mainly sweet and bready with an ample amount of booze in the flavoring.
On the palate, this one sat right at a medium on the body. Sessionable? Not really but I wasn’t expecting it to be due to the fact that this is a DIPA.
Overall, decent DIPA as if it would have been done by an English brewer. Though I don’t think this is the best DIPA on the market, I look at this one as if there’s such a style as an English DIPA.

bottle. Only had one, so I can’t beat down hard on this beer, and I realize masking 9% is hard, but this had an overwhelming nose and taste of alcohol. Not a fan
