Bottle from Wine and Beer Westpark on 03/31/2009. Very clear copper amber body with a medium rocky off-white head. Sweet citrus and resiny hop aroma. Caramel, dry floral and resiny hop flavor and a bit of hop bitterness lingering behind. Medium full body with moderate carbonation.

courtesy of retorp. Pours ruby amber with tan head. Aroma has a good grainy nose with added caramel malts. Taste is hoppy, very smooth with some light fruit notes (cherry) and caramel with very small hints of hops.

Bomber from Sun Devil in Mesa, AZ. Dated Apr 07. Shame, but it is what it is. Hazy orange amber color with a frothy beige head. Lots of floral hop over some lightly roasted caramel. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is roasted caramel, moving to floral and citrus hop, then a burst of sweetness suggesting a barley wine, then some hop returns for balance. May not be super fresh, but it is still pretty tasty. Good drink.

22oz bomber pours a slightly hazy, copper, orange with a sudsy white head that laced the glass beautifully. Aroma is very balanced mix of sweetness and citrus. Nose has cookie dough, caramel, and biscuits with grapefruits, pine, and lemon zest. Flavor was a lot more mild than I expected with plenty of sweet malts only mild citrus, lemons, flowers and oranges. Only a medium mouthfeel despite the heavy alcohol and some lasting bitterness. This would probably be a very good introduction for someone into IIPAs, it’s not overwhelming.

Small, whitish rim on (cold?) hazy orange beer. Grapey-, grapefruit-, lytchee- hopsnose. Very nice & floral, with a hint of ureum. Soft-sweet, and mild bitter, but extreme hoppy beer, a bit like cake with orange marmalade filling, and a bit of apricot and lytchee in the finish. Well bodied, very slick, some alcohol obvious. Very nice IIPA, not too overwhelming, certain balance. Many thanks to Eugene - shared with D & L

From l4lb. Pours clear copper with thin off white head. The aroma is mostly malty goodness followed by some pine hoppiness and grapefruit and orange rind. Nice tasting IIPA with some up from grapefruit and pine hop bitterness and malty chewy sweetness that carries deep into the after taste. Yummy tasting IIPA that nearly defines the style with its thickness and hoppiness but comes up short compared to the envelop pushing offerings in the style and the aroma lacks that extra enthusiasm I have come to expect. Still very enjoyable.

Bomber, labeled as 9.24% abv - clear copper beer, with a soapy, bright white lace - very earthy hop aroma, with simcoe being the most prominent - some notes of boiled vegetables and fruity sweetness in the nose as well - fairly thin for the style, but it manages an oily mouthfeel none-the-less - kind of astringent bitterness, and strong fusel alcohol - the alcohol adds a spicy dimension, though, which compliments the herbal, peppery hops - moderate sweetness couples with the herbal character to impart a tea-like quality - thin, one dimensional, and fairly hot - over-rated - and this is their highest-rated beer! - I shan’t be trying any more.

Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival 2007. A hazy amber beer with a thin lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet hoppy lending it notes of both grass and grapefruit. The flavor is sweet mlaty with notes of caramel and lots of hops giving it notes of grapefruit, but also with a light alcohol note, leading to a dry bitter and grassy finish.

Pours with a small, thick, off-white head. Hazy amber body. Good lacing and pretty good retention. Aroma is strongly floral, with apricot and some grapefruit. Truely a good smelling beer. Smooth sweet taste, not extremely hoppy at all. Very mild bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel, a very easy drinking DIPA.

650 mL bottle. Pours a clear orange golden color with a small off white head. The aroma is a sweet malt with floral and citrus. Decent lacing on the glass. The taste a sweet hops with a bitter finish. Easy to drink and hides the alcohol well. An impressive Double IPA from Steamworks.
