Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 11/8/11

Aroma: The nose has some caramel malts, some grapefruit hops, and wood
Appearance: It pours a dark orange color with an off-white head and fairly heavy lacing
Flavor: The taste is medium sweet, with a some caramel and citrus flavors, and a little bitterness
Palate: The body is fairly light, the mouthfeel is clean, and it has a somewhat dry finish to it
Overall Impression: I thought this was a pretty decent beer. It has a nice balanced to it, and it drinks decently. Not too bad at all.

Cask at GBBF 2010. Supposedly an ESB not an amber ale. A hazy amber beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel, leading to a lightly bitter finish.

Have had this on normal draught and handpull and the only difference I’ve seen is carbonation (obviously) so I won’t make a big deal here of the differences. A nice restrained hop aroma that has decent malts hanging out, too. Flavor is muted but nice. Medium hops, medium caramel malts, light toast, some earth. No powerhouse. Finish is short but has noticeable bitterness. Solid.

Sample courtesy of jcwattsrugger. Pours brilliant clear copper with off white head. The aroma is fresh graininess, some caramel malts and malt sweetened citrus notes. The taste hits with a mild drying malt roastiness, some sweet caramel malts and growing sweet citrus. It has a mild hop bitterness and pleasing hop flavor with the addition of faint graininess showing up for moments here and there. Nice brew.

Bottle. Pours semi cloudy brown with white head. Nose of fresh hops, cream, citrus and malts. Creamy mouth feel with light malts, hops and cream.

From cask. Pours clear and golden orange with a small to fully gone head. Aroma is Fruity and slight malty. Vague cornish note. Bitter and dry into the finish. Ends dry and bitter.

Bottle. Pours a light, murky brown with a thin white head. A welcoming aroma of fruity hops and sweet malt. Flavor is moderately rich, with nice, lightly roasted malt character and some bitter hops towards the end. Earthy, with notes of caramel and brown sugar. Medium in body with medium to low carbonation. Finish is semi-dry and lightly warming. Good beer overall.

Cask @ GBBF 2009. Pours a clear amber color with no head. Has a fruity malty hoppy aroma with hints of caramel. Sweetish malty hoppy flavor with hints of caramel. Has a sweetish malty hoppy finish.

On cask at Friday the Firkenteenth at the Grey Lodge Pub. Pours a translucent orange with some thin, spitty white head. Aroma of flowers, fall fruits, some sweetness. Flavor is bitter with pine and some caramel sweetness. Finishes dry.

Cask (gravity) @ GBBF 09, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England. [ As Cricket Hill Colonel Blides ESB ]. Clear medium amber color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, moderate hoppy, orange, citrus and pine notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat.
