At GBBF 2009. As the ESB. Amber clear, thin lasting beige head. It’s a pretty close attempt at an English ESB. Some fruit on the malts, bit of pepper on finishing hops. Bit dusty/stale/oxidised.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of jcwattsrugger. Thanks! Pours a hazy orange color with a medium head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel, floral hops and apple-like fruit notes. Taste is bitter, leafy hops and caramel. Some subtle peach and pear in the finish. Fairly dry. Medium bodied.

Gravicask, one-third pint. Hazy dark amber. Smell of apricot. Taste of herbs, dried fruits and toffee malts. Rounded bitter ending on a rather low level. Pleasant, but still average for the style (GBBF, 05.08.2009).

Cask@GBBF2009 (as Colonel Blides ESB). Amber colour, not much head. Aroma is wood, some fruits and a bit yeastylike earthy notes. Flavour is quite much the same. Balanced, but quite boring ESB.

Cask@GBBF 2009. "As Colonel Blides ESB" Clear amber color, not much head. A bit glueish hoppy (grapefruit, mango) aroma. American hoppy flavor, some caramel and fruity notes. Light hoppy finish. Very American ESB.

courtesy of jcwattsrugger. Pours copper with off white head. Aroma is fruity and on the hoppy side, some light caramel malts. Taste, hoppy with fruits, caramel malts, clean palate, some apple peel with crisp finish.

Cask at the GBBF 2008, gravity dispense. ABV was 5.5%. Golden brown colour, no head. Fruity mild aroma and flavour, notes of blackcurrant and raspberry leaves. Low bitterness.
