This red ale has a strong malt backbone and is bittered with Galaxy and Amarillo hops. Rooibos was added to both to the kettle and fermenter, with this aromatic tea coming through with cinnamon, caramel and vanilla notes and a hint of earthy, wood character.

Draught at the brewpub
Dark red-brown colour. The dark malt base is quite interesting, nice caramel profile, breadcrust, helped by a tiny residual sweetness; the roiboos is delicate but evident and it blends well with the malt. Unfortunately the final is tannic and with strong chicory bitterness.
Not completely achieved, but interesting somehow.
